It's been a while....
and I have not blogged, and I apologize. I've been busy on Facebook, and with the election and all its aftermath, I've just been kind of stuck about things to say. That is, I have opinions on it all, but I am in such the minority, it just is discouraging. WHY DON'T CHRISTIANS GET IT?
I do feel like a broken record...the economy is going to hell in a handbasket, yet my pastor just preached, once again on Jeremiah 29:11 where the Lord says He has plans for *you*, to prosper *you*. Well, let's look at the context of that. Jeremiah is delivering the message of hope to the Israelites who are in EXILE!. Losing 40% of your 401 K (we're down only about 10% in that by the way, down 30% in our gold stocks and up 30% in our Prudent Bear Fund....of course, we've got the least amount of money in Prudent Bear, but it did make money, and we did take some out) folks is NOT exile. Not even close. There are still far too many people with way too much discretionary income, and when there's *Christians* out there (and I can think of at least 2 of my Facebook friends, alone), who are getting Wii stuff for Christmas while simultaneously on EBT, WIC and Medicaid (or some combination), there's still way too big a money supply out there.
Obama's president. America has *repented* of its sin of racism (which is/was very real). My Pastor commented he wondered why God chose to pick a President who showed that America has repented of racism, whereas He did not choose a pro-life President. I do not claim to know the mind of God on too many things, but to me, this was a no-brainer. America, as a nation, on the whole, has repented of the God-awful sin of racism. That is good. BUT, it has come nowhere close, ON THE WHOLE, to repenting of it's anti-child heart, manifested in the fact that Christians' birth rate is no different than secularists'. *Christians* may not actually KILL their conceived offspring...they just make sure *said* conception never occurs. Much less messy that way, but dear friends, the atitude is just 2 sides of the same coin: Rejecting the blessing of children. So...really, in light of that, how can we be surprised at the results. I heard it once said that the difference between birth control and abortion is only in the timing; the heart is the same. I find no fault in that arguement, but them's fighting words amongst the Christians pastors and people.
Sigh....live well, folks. And, if you haven't started doing whatever it takes to pay off debt, I sincerely advise starting to now. 2009 will be rocky. God's moral laws are no different than His physical laws. Please do not mistake God's patience and longsuffering with acceptance and approval. That's dangerous territory.
Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil. Eccelesiastes 8:11
