Good morning...it's May
Well, folks, it's been a while since I posted and lots has happened. First and most importantly, 51 days ago I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, RD, weighing 10 pounds 13 oz., making her our 3rd largest. She is beautiful, perfect, amiable and slept for 8 hours last night. She is about as perfect as a baby can be. We are truly blessed.
Our addition is finished, and we already have a pink dogwood planted in the front yard as well as 2 more purchased, waiting to be planted. We had furniture delivered in our tv room...a huge brown leather double sectional (3 love seats and 2 wedges forming a U), but no ottoman till May 16th. We moved in our 20 yr. old entertainment center with 27" tv....I look forward to getting a larger screen tv come June or July. I'm still not sure what kind to get...LCD or plasma...each month they seem to get cheaper in prices.
We now have *seating* in 4 rooms...it is so nice to be able to spread out. Now, poor Dan gets to do interior painting...with 11 of us (actually 10 of us touching walls)...we take a toll on our walls and our room, the new hallway, the upstairs door frames need to be repainted, and the middle girls' rooms need to be touched up. In addition, because of the lust of the flesh, I want to redo our bathrooms, too, one at a time. BUT, we need to finish paying this off before we do. We own our home with no lien and that is very exciting. It is my hope that our children will make living within their means a TOP priority.
It is beautiful outside. 2 days ago, my 4th child turned 10. She is also a lovely, young lady who had a fantastic birthday. She is a type A worker child...my type of personality. We had a picnic outside for her birthday, which is one of the loveliest times of years. Now, we have windows open, and it smells wonderful, the grass is green and Dan and the 2 boys are out bass fishing. I am very grateful and thankful to the Lord for health and life and wanted to publicly acknowledge that. I know the Lord is Lord no matter what the circumstance, but I am truly grateful for the pleasant lines he has drawn. There are 2 components to life; our circumstances and our responses. I can control my response, which to a certain extent controls my circumstance, but there is a higher power, namely the Lord, who also controls things at a higher level than me.
For example, I don't smoke, I excercise moderately and eat fairly well (although not even close to perfect)...yet I can do the *right* things and still have problems conceiving and having a full-term healthy baby. God controls that, ultimately, and that is why I am so grateful for a 9th baby, who is healthy (and I am 41 yrs. 4 months to boot).
So, amazingly, no kvetching on my part...just have a great day and do what is right.
